The Lifeline Embattled NGO Assistance Fund

The Lifeline Fund provides emergency funds and advocacy support to civil society organizations (CSOs) that are under threat or attack due to their work.  Specifically, Lifeline supports CSOs with small, short-term emergency grants for medical expenses, legal representation, prison visits, trial monitoring, temporary relocation, security, equipment replacement, and other types of urgent expenses.  It also provides support to CSOs to conduct directed short-term advocacy initiatives to raise domestic and international awareness of specific threats or restrictions on civil society.  The Lifeline Fund is operated by a Consortium of seven international organizations led by Freedom House.
