
Mary McGuire is senior communications manager at Freedom House. Ms. McGuire has more than 12 years of experience in media and communications. She is responsible for developing the organization's press strategy, increasing its media profile and producing external communication products. She also contributes to Freedom House's annual UN Human Rights Council Report Card which assesses the performance of the international human rights body. Prior to Freedom House, Mary served as a director of integrated communications at UCLA where she managed various university web publications and implemented a communications training program. She came to UCLA from Declare Yourself, a national nonpartisan, nonprofit campaign to empower and encourage young Americans to vote where she managed events and media. She also managed press operations for the Mayor and City Attorney of Los Angeles respectively, and served as associate director of media relations at the 2000 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles. Mary has a Masters degree in International Organizations from Dublin City University.
