Join us for the launch of Freedom House’s latest special report, License to Censor: The Use of Media Regulation to Restrict Press Freedom, which analyzes one of the most common and pernicious ways of restricting media freedom around the world. Panelists will also discus a new report by CIMA Registering Reporters: How Licensing of Journalists Threatens Independent News Media, which found that licensing continues to thrive as one way to control the press. Panelists will discuss how regulation restricts media diversity and freedom expression and will provide recommendations for reform.
