West Bank and Gaza Strip
The West Bank and Gaza Strip have been covered in different ways by Freedom House surveys over the years, as indicated below. In some cases they have been assessed together, and in others as distinct units. At times they have also been divided according to de facto Israeli or Palestinian Authority control. - Freedom in the World: Beginning with the 2011 edition, the West Bank and Gaza Strip were assessed as two distinct geographical units. In prior editions, the territories were assessed in two separate reports called Israeli-Occupied Territories and Palestinian Authority-Administered Territories.
- Freedom of the Press: This survey covers the territories together in one report. Beginning with the 2012 edition, it was called West Bank and Gaza Strip. Prior to that it was known as Israeli-Occupied Territories and Palestinian Authority.
- Women's Rights in the Middle East and North Africa: This survey covers the territories in one report called Palestine: Palestinian Authority and Israeli-Occupied Territories.
