Countries at the Crossroads 2011

On November 4, Freedom House released the findings from Countries at the Crossroads 2011, at a panel discussion hosted by The Atlantic Council. The discussion focused on the prospects for success in the democratic transitions of countries affected by the uprisings in the Middle East, specifically Egypt, Libya, Syria and Tunisiawhich were included in this year’s report. The panel featured insight from experts including, Ambassador William Taylor of the State Department, David Yang of USAID and Middle East specialists Michelle Dunne and Hisham Mehlam.
